Avocado ice candy is a frozen dessert popular in the Philippines. It is a refreshing treat made with ripe avocados, milk or condensed milk, sugar, and often includes additional flavorings or ingredients for variation.
To make avocado ice candy, ripe avocados are typically used. The avocados are peeled and pitted, and the flesh is scooped out and mash it using a hand mixer to make it smooth. Milk and condensed milk are also needed to make it creamy and tasty.
Additional ingredients may be included to enhance the flavor of the ice candy. Some recipes incorporate ingredients such as vanilla extract, or even crushed graham crackers for added texture. These optional additions can provide a unique twist to the final product.
Once the avocado mixture is ready, it is poured into ice candy molds or small plastic bags. Plastic bags are a common packaging method in the Philippines, where the mixture is poured into the bags, tied securely, and laid flat to freeze.
The avocado ice candy is then placed in the freezer until fully frozen. It typically takes several hours to solidify, depending on the size of the molds or bags used.
When serving, the frozen avocado ice candy can be enjoyed by cutting off a corner of the plastic bag. It is a delightful treat to eat during hot summer days, offering a creamy and fruity taste with a cool and refreshing texture.
